Upright meaning
Ansuz is the communication rune — but it's not just about talking. It's about actually listening. There's a good chance that something important is trying to get through to you right now, and you might be missing it.
Pay attention to conversations, dreams, gut feelings, things that keep coming up. Sometimes the message isn't spelled out — it arrives sideways, through a chance comment or a feeling you can't quite shake.
On the flip side, this is also a great time to speak up yourself. Got something to say? Say it. Want to write, teach, or have an honest conversation you've been putting off? Now's a good moment. Your words will land well.
Reversed meaning
Reversed Ansuz points to some kind of communication breakdown. Maybe you're not being heard, or you're not really listening to what others are telling you. Mixed messages are likely right now.
Watch out for someone who might not be being straight with you. And honestly, check yourself too — are you being fully truthful in how you're talking about your situation?
Before you assume you understood something important, double-check. Before you assume you were understood, check that too.
